Anthony Shadid
Biography
Anthony Shadid is a highly decorated foreign correspondent for the New York Times and is based in the Middle East. He is a two-time winner of the Pulitzer Prize for his coverage of the U.S. war in Iraq and is the author of the award-winning book Night Draws Near (Henry Holt, 2005), which examines the impact of the war on ordinary Iraqis from a variety of walks of life. Shadid spoke with the Weave in March 2008 while visiting St. Lawrence University as part of the Contemporary Issues Forum.
